Why We Exist

HTSP fulfills a great need for brain injury information and support in the greater Sacramento region. Brain injuries are life threatening and life changing. Recovery varies depending upon the severity of the injury and other health factors. At the time of injury, families usually don’t understand the long-term implications. Families also tend to be unfamiliar with government and community resources that may be available to them. We have a brochure “Brain Injury WHAT NOW?” available at our support groups or by calling our hotline.

Supported since 1984 by the United Way, other charitable organizations and generous individuals, we continue our work. Driven by the dedication of our volunteers, the hard work of our board and support from the community, we continue to pursue our original goals — to provide information, referrals, education and support to survivors of brain injury and their families. We do this at no cost to the members. If you would like to join our funding team, please visit our donate link for more information.
